The Andrews text offers a look as to how LEA is authentic, and how teaching it should be done in an authentic environment, and social circumstances. It is in these authentic circumstances that Andrews says "real" language is learned and is able to evolve. Students are able to voice their opinions in class, therefore expanding their language awareness. If students are constantly lectured at for hours on end, and are expected to answer questions with one word answers, students will not grasp the true aspects of language and how it shapes itself in various situations. I think that this chapter really offers insight on some of our language questions because it shows us that our lessons should be rooted in authenticity and helping students grow in their LEA, rather than stunting them by never allowing them to truly talk.
